Tom Emmer is not the Speaker of the House.

“I have many wonderful friends wanting to be Speaker of the House, and some are truly great Warriors. RINO Tom Emmer, who I do not know well, is not one of them,” said the previous president.

Emmer “never respected” his endorsements “or the breadth and scope of MAGA,” and he claimed Emmer is “totally out-of-touch with Republican Voters.”

Emmer is no paragon of virtue. But his unforgivable sin, in the eyes of this compulsive liar, is to have voted to certify the 2020 election.

Entertaining even a sliver of doubt that the 2020 election might be valid is fatal to hopes of Speakership in 2023. The requirement for any viable speaker candidate is to deny the veracity of the election and quite likely to view the insurrection of January 6th as a peaceful demonstration.

Requirements to be #2 in line for the presidency include being a fool, a liar, and a sycophant of a fascist narcissist.

Mike Johnson fits the bill

This “obscure” representative has ascended to one of the most important posts in the government of the United States by taking advantage of the disarray in the “majority” party. In addition to having a majority of the members of the House of Representatives, the GOP has a majority of election deniers.

“If you don’t think that moving from Kevin McCarthy to MAGA Mike Johnson shows the ascendance of this movement and where the power in the Republican Party truly lies, then you’re not paying attention.” — Representative Matt Gaetz in an interview on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast.

Those who believe MAGA extremists are a cancer on American democracy will do well to heed Mr. Gaetz’s comments.

“We all know that the world is in turmoil, but a strong America is good for the entire world. We are the beacon of freedom and we must preserve this grand experiment in self-governance.” — Mike Johnson

Mike Johnson uses doublespeak to convince himself that denying the veracity of the 2020 election is preserving the American experiment. But that is far from his only sin.

Representative Johnson is a wolf in shepherd’s clothing.

In addition to filling the aforementioned requirements, his list of vile positions goes on.

“I believe that scripture, the Bible is very clear that God is the one that raises up those in authority.” — Mike Johnson

If this is the case, why is it that Mr. Johnson cannot believe that Joe Biden was also raised up by God?

“I believe that each one of us has a huge responsibility today to use the gifts that God has given us to serve the extraordinary people of this great country…” — Mike Johnson

If that is the case, why is it that he cannot use his intelligence to realize that theocracies are always repressive and are never in service of all the people?

…in 1962 that our national motto, “In God We Trust” was adorned above this rostrum…” This was done to rebuke “Marxism and communism, which begins with the premise that there is no God. — Mike Johnson

Mike Johnson telegraphs his intention to use the presence of this phrase to institute discriminatory policies based on his narrow interpretation of God and religion. Why can’t he understand that any sectarian prayer is divisive, and has no place in government?

The media is attacking me for my faith right now. That’s nothing new. Christians around the world have faced the same kind of hatred for their faith for hundreds of years. — Speaker Mike Johnson

Oh, Boohoo!

A follower of the majority religion in the United States once again decries the treatment of the faithful.

Isn’t this really the crux of the problem? The Speaker is 100% sure his positions are the best possible, that his interpretation of Scripture is infallible, and that the tenets of his interpretation of his religion should be incorporated into government for “all the people.”

And Mr. Johnson feels that any contrary opinion is an attack on his religion.

No, Mr. Speaker, what you are hearing is not an attack on you. Nor is it an attack on your religion. What you hear is opposition to your intent to establish a “Christian” Nationalist Theocracy. It is resistance to the imposition of your narrow interpretation of the Christian Bible on all the citizens of the United States of America.

It is the sound of freedom from the imposition of your religion.
