Trump Won’t Stop Falling Asleep
If Sleepy Don can’t stay awake during his criminal trial, how does anyone expect him to run the country?
It’s happened again — during the latest round of witness testimony in Trump’s criminal hush money trial, the former president dozed off in the middle of the courtroom.
According to the New York Times’s Maggie Haberman, Trump appeared to be napping with his eyes closed for “significant portions” of Tuesday’s testimony. Corroborating reports by CNN and NBC noted that he was slumped back in his chair — during his own legal team’s cross-examination, no less — stirring and jerking his head in a way consistent with involuntary sleeping.
Of course, this is only the latest example of Trump’s inability to stay engaged during his criminal prosecution. Since the first day of Jury selection, the former president has been sleeping through most of his court proceedings, and to the dismay of his lawyers, there doesn’t appear to be any way of stopping it.
