Danelo Cavalcante, a Brazilian Immigrant, has made headlines (for the second time) for escaping the Chester County Prison in Southeastern Pennsylvania where he was awaiting transport to a maximum-security prison to serve his sentence of life without the possibility of parole for the stabbing murder of his ex-girlfriend, Deborah Brandao in April 2021. His escape from Chester County happened just nine days after his sentencing.

Cavalcante is seen on video crab walking up the wall located in the yard of the prison. Upon reaching the top he had to make his way through barbed wire to gain access to the rooftop.

The wire was added as an additional security measure following the escape of Igor Bolte, an inmate at the Chester County Prison that used the same tactic to escape from the same prison, he managed to do so twice.

Bolte’s first escape was in July of 2019, during which he was serving a sentence for aggravated assault. Bolte’s 2019 escape was less melodramatic as he walked out of a work-release center at the jail, scaled a security fence before fleeing on foot. His escape was short lived, however, and Bolte was brought back into custody early the next morning, being caught a mile and a half from the jail.
