typewriter

The clack clack of the black keys

In my mind’s eye brings back the time

When my only connection to the world

Outside was just a humble typewriter.

nokia phone

I miss those times spent playing

Snake on the phone that could

Only send a small sms but it

Was my only connection to you.

walkman

The cassette you gave me with all your

Favorite songs, I still keep in my memory,

Just the sounds of silence and melody

And that connection to my heart.

Poets note: I tried a series of short connected poems, a stanza each for Day 17’s NaPoWriMo prompt! The challenge was to write a poem about forgotten technology.
