Breitbart beat out the neo-Nazi Daily Stormer in their bid to buy Yorfess for an undisclosed sum this week. This is part of Breitbart’s strategy to engage with different audiences: chiefly those who don’t yet blame others for all their own problems.

The takeover has seen Paul Joseph Watson become an admin of the page. Watson considers himself ‘quite politically well read’ which means he watched Joker twice without needing a bathroom break. He joins heavyweights such as Alex Jones and a single Confederate flag on the admin roster. Free speech is a priority as long as it’s not from ‘leftists’, women, or those who don’t identify as ‘English’.

The new editorial team largely agree with the vision set out by the previous admins. However, they intend to do away with the subtlety of their forebears. They’re hungry for more than just occasional racism and white supremacist talking points. To paraphrase Change UK, they want change and they want it now. This has already brought controversy after they made an ‘*extremely* obscure controversial reference’ to ‘race science’ inside their full reprint of the BNP’s 2010 manifesto. Their ‘sincere’ apology was quickly followed by Powell’s Rivers of Blood speech interspersed with emojis.

Those who wish to apply to become an admin are encouraged to fill out a questionnaire which consists entirely of questions about the applicant’s ethnicity.
