Some of us find magic in starting things, projects, relationships. Perhaps it’s the excitement for what is next what catches our attention.

There is always that instant of uncertainty about whether things are right at the moment or not, where we ask ourselves if the conditions are correct, if we are ready. However once all of our doubts have been cleared and you take the jump, that is when that “feeling” starts traveling through our bodies.

Sometimes I think the real challenge for some of us is to maintain that level of energy, that momentum, for a long time. Since conditions will inevitably vary, things will get difficult, issues will arise, problems will appear more frequently as time goes by and… We will get saturated, we will feel anxious, we will get bored, we will want to start over.

When we reach that point, we must be very careful since we will become vulnerable to finding situations that may positively catch our eyes, for projects that can make us “fall in love again” and really… How can we blame ourselves? We are curious beings, we want to be challenged, we want to learn new things, we want to create, we want to discover. We want to do, we want to be. We want to say, not to be told about it.

And that is the trap. Our curiosity gets the best of us at times and, quite often, we find ourselves running after newer (and shinier) things that in paper promise brighter futures.

We are condemned to eternally be on the look for “the next big thing”. Because we want to be a part of it. We need to be a part of it.

So to you I write, if today things are not looking so good, if you are thinking about moving on, about stopping… Please just pause and rethink. Before you go and forget what you have created to look for something greener on the other side, slow down and reflect.

Ask yourself: Is there anything else you can do to make things better where you are right now? Is it really the best thing to quit and try again? Are you really at the end of your rope? Or maybe do you just need a break to renew your energy, to gain more focus?

Trust me, I know that whatever you decide will be the best decision. But I just want you to be sure that you have thought this through. I believe in you and in your potential. Don’t screw yourself over because of tiredness, because of stress, because things got hard, because you thought you couldn’t do it.

You can do it. You have something right now. Please, make it happen.

However, if in the end you decide to try to find something different. Please, go for it at full force and don’t stop for anything, for anybody.

Finally to you I say: This is your life. Don’t take it for granted. Be proud of your choices. Don’t freeze. And go for it. Now.
