The Library of Things is a magazine that encourages writers, poets, cartoonists to showcase their talent using our weekly prompts.

We publish any piece of art that complies with our guidelines regardless of genre or medium.

The guidelines are pretty simple.

  1. No plagiarizing — Original content only. Content which is offensive, racist or inappropriate will not be accepted.
  2. Only one submission per author per week.
  3. Use ‘The library of things’ as one of the tags.
  4. Stories which are riddled with grammatical errors will not be accepted.
  5. Submissions must comply with Medium’s Rules and Ad-Free Policy.
  6. The prompt must play a pivotal part in the story.
  7. All images that have been used in your post must be licence free, with a proper source citation.
  8. A new prompt is given every Thursday. You can submit till 12 midnight(European Standard Time) of the following Thursday.
  9. First time submission: Please send us an email with a link to your submission as a Medium draft to editor.thelibraryofthings@gmail.com. The procedure to submit the story in the form of a draft is given here. If accepted, you will be added as a writer for this publication. After that, you can directly add to the publication for us to review.

The editors reserve the right to shortlist stories which will be published. In order to make your content more engaging please try limiting it to 300–700 words. We accept both unpublished and previously published pieces.
