How to Know if You are Obsessed with Someone

A question was posed to me a few weeks ago. This person had a friend who seemed to be obsessed with a crush but they weren’t certain.

The thing is, if you have to ask, then chances are there is a problem. Health is often overlooked because we don’t need to say anything about things being done the right way. Or perhaps health is applauded because in some contexts it is rare.

But when it comes to the context of love and romance, health is pretty rare. And when the unhealthiness is acute, we are naturally taken aback.

When I read the question, I immediately knew the answer because I’ve been in some pretty obsessive situations myself both as the object of desire and the obsessed person.

There are a number of ways this plays out:

- Constantly talking about the person you like

- Constantly thinking about the person you like

- Stalking their social media

- Compulsive daydreaming about a life together

- Projecting what you want this person to be

- Possessiveness and jealousy

All of these activities are signs of obsessive love but they are all born out of a primordial belief. And what is that belief?
