I have seen countless teachers try to fit into a particular mold or teaching style they believe is expected of them. Many teachers enter the classroom and “act like a teacher,” doing and saying things they may typically not because it is what they believe a successful teacher would do or say.

However, the most effective teachers are those who are their authentic selves in the classroom. The most effective teacher is a role model; each individual has unique strengths, and being your authentic self allows you to highlight these.

In this blog post, I want to share with you why being authentic as a teacher is so important and how it can have a positive impact on student learning and engagement. By the end of this post, you’ll have practical tips for overcoming the fear of being authentic and infusing your unique personality and experiences into your teaching.

Authenticity is important for teachers because it helps them build stronger connections with their students and create a classroom environment where students feel valued and supported
