Are you running a busi-ness?

Or are you drowning in busy-ness?

There was a time when I didn’t take my rest, recharge and play seriously. I did it all unconsciously. Work seemed like play, so I never thought I needed to rest.

These days, I’m pretty conscious of my approach and the time I give to rest. There are still some people who hustle, don’t have any hobbies, etc., and that’s alright! I have high regard for them, too. To each their own :)

Hustlers and non-hustlers do separate things for their rest and recharge. Some people want and allocate more time and a variety of activities to do after their work. Others do less.

Does keeping rest and recharge deviate us from work? Does it hamper our work? Should we work instead of recharge?

Our biology doesn’t allow us to work all day. Our conditioning doesn’t allow us. Our body needs rest after a certain point.

So does work deplete our energy? Is working bad? No.

In our society, we work to create a life for ourselves, to survive in society so that we can afford whatever life has for us to consume.

Consider yourself like a battery or any other device with a rechargeable battery. When you work, your energy definitely depletes faster than when you don’t work. But even when you don’t work, your body requires energy to function — digestion, excretion, respiration, etc.

But let’s say you don’t work and only focus on keeping yourself recharged. You’ll eventually overcharge, and your batteries will fail.

The ideal scenario is where you recharge as you are working (not in terms of time exchange). In that case, you’ll always be 100%

That’s what breaks do. That’s why we should take breaks in the middle of our work.

Are you of the notion that “If you love your work, you’ll never have to work a day in your life,” or do you believe one should balance rest and work?

Let me know what you think of taking breaks. See you soon! :)
