Music indeed expresses that which cannot be said. Music has always occupied a central place in the imagination of Indians. The art of singing has always been a pivotal part of India’s culture. In India, singing has always been considered an important tool for conveying messages, feeling and thoughts. The range of musical phenomenon in India extends from simple melodies to what is one of the most well- developed “systems” of classical music in the world. India is also home to some of the greatest musicians and singers including Tansen, Thyagaraja, Lata Mangeshkar and many others.

Honoring this thought, The Indian High School hosted “BHARAT MERI SHAAN — Aao Karen Bharat Ka Gungaan!”, a singing extravaganza aimed at celebrating our homeland’s 67th Republic Day.
