Interactive, data and visual journalist Xaquín G.V. created a special report for The Washington Post, detailing just how wide the current chasm between men and women’s salaries and wages exists.

“The median salary for women working full-time is about 80 percent of men’s. That gap, put in other terms, means women are working for free 10 weeks a year,” writes G.V.

So is the gender pay gap just a myth, like deniers purport? Is it a result of women’s choices, rather than discrimination?

Click here for a closer look at G.V.’s breakdowns with data and graphs.
