As with every year, many new singers and musicians from various genres and styles got discovered in 2015. Here are 10 breakout artists who made a big impact in the music industry last year.
1. Devilskin
Devilskin is a band that received much attention last year. Their debut album We Rise was awarded Platinum by Recorded Music NZ in March 2015.

2. Marlon Williams
Marlon Williams had his breakout moment as he did his first national television performance on SBS Australia’s music quiz show RocKwiz, and at the Sydney Opera House for TEDx Sydney.

3. Elle King
Elle King’s album Love Stuff was a hit. She even earned her two Grammy nominations for her debut single Ex’s & Oh’s for the Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song.

4. Wolf Alice
This four-piece alternative rock band began as an acoustic duo in 2010. Moaning Lisa Smile has been nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance for the 2016 Grammys.

5. Courtney Barnett
Courtney, an Australian singer-songwriter, released her solo debut Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit that got her the best New Artist Grammy nomination.

6. Ryn Weaver
Ryn Weaver, an American indie pop singer, released her debut studio album, The Fool, this June that sold 13,800 units in its first week.

7. Kehlani
Kehlani, the twenty year old American R&B singer-songwriter, was named as one of the “15 Artists to Watch in 2015″ by the Complex.

8. Hailee Steinfeld
The movie Pitch Perfect 2 brought Hailee Steinfeld to fame. Love Myself, her debut single, was released in August 2015. It became a huge hit and is certified platinum.

9. Beatrice Annika
Beatrice Annika, the American singer-songwriter and actress, came to limelight through the show The X Factor. Her debut album Not an Apology was released on July 24, 2015, and was a smashing hit.

10. Nicky Jam
Nicky Jam is a Latin-pop artist who has been receiving quite a lot of attention recently. 2015 saw Nicky Jam win a Latin Grammy Award for Best Urban Performance.
