This release is an important milestone for the Liqo community, with new features and an increased commitment to stability.

The team has been hard at work, listening to feedback from users and addressing their concerns, resulting in a more reliable and user-friendly experience. New features include:

  • Support for other network providers. The Liqo networking module can now be turned off, hence potentially enabling the deployment of other cross-cluster networking technologies.
  • Ability to disable the networking module. It allows for greater security and flexibility when only offloading is required.
  • Introduction of ShadowEndpointslices. It guarantees resiliency to network failures in the remote (provider) cluster, ensuring better performance and reliability.
  • Metrics for virtual-kubelet. It enables users to monitor Liqo’s performance.
  • Readiness status of the foreign API server. This information is now shown in the ForeignCluster Custom Resource, helping users to identify any potential issues quickly.
  • Liqoctl supports internal network disabled options. This makes it easier for users to monitor and set their environments.

If you haven’t tried Liqo yet, now is a great time to start. With its powerful networking and resource-sharing capabilities, it’s a game-changer for modern cloud-native approaches.

Thanks to all the contributors for their hard work and the users for their feedback and support. If you like the project, please do not forget to star it on GitHub and join our Slack community.
