For more details and information on DAPP Network Governance, please refer to the Introducing DAPP Network Governance blog article.

Connect EOS Wallet

Step 1

Visit the community hosted DAPP Network Governance Portal.

Step 2

Click “CONNECT” in the upper right hand corner of the page.

Step 3

You may connect to the DAPP Network Governance Portal using Anchor, Scatter, or Token Pocket wallets.

Locking / Staking DAPP Tokens

  • You must Lock/Stake a minimum of 1,000 DAPPs into the governance vault to be able to participate in DAPP Network governance (submitting new proposals and/or vote on existing ones). These tokens can only be locked for governance when kept liquid (i.e. DAPP tokens staked to service packages cannot be locked for governance).
  • By using the ‘lock’ action, DAPP tokens are transferred to the ‘DAPPGOVERNOR’ smart contract vault.

Step 1

Once your wallet has been connected, click on the ‘DAPP tokens’ link on the home page and then enter the amount of DAPP tokens you wish to lock up. Next, click the “Lock” button to sign the transaction.

Note: There is a 3 day unlocking period that begins immediately upon pushing an ‘unlock’ action.

Voting for a Proposal

Step 1

On the ‘Governance Proposals’ page, click on any proposal listed under the ‘Created’ section.

Step 2

On the selected proposal page, click on the “VOTE” button.

Step 3

You will then be prompted with a pop-up asking you to vote. Click on “Yes”, “No”, or “Not Sure” and then sign the transaction using your preferred wallet. Choosing “Not Sure” is a way for a user to abstain from voting while still having their votes go towards the 2% approval threshold.

Step 4

After you vote, it is possible to find that the vote statistics have not been updated. If so, you can re-tally manually by clicking the “UPDATE TALLY” button, which performs the ‘updatetally’ action.

Note: If you withdraw your tokens, your votes will be forfeited from the proposal.

Submitting a Proposal

  • You must Lock/Stake a minimum of 1,000 DAPPs into the governance vault to be able to submit a new proposal.
  • Creating a proposal charges a fee of 1,000 DAPPs to the submitter’s account.
  • If the proposal attains a threshold of 2% of the total DAPP supply within 30 days of submission, the 1,000 DAPPs fee will be automatically refunded.

Step 1

Click “CREATE PROPOSAL” on the DAPP Network Governance Portal home page.

Step 2

Fill out the proposal form.

  • Proposal Title: Choose a name that is a short description of the proposal.
  • Summary: Describe what it is you wish to propose and be as specific as possible. It doesn’t need to be technical and code is not necessarily required, even if the proposal is related to a technical issue. Keep it simple and well defined, so a team, teams, or community members can easily understand and implement it if passed.
  • External Link: If you would like to submit a proposal that requires images, diagrams, or rich text then you may also attach a link or IPFS hash to an external file.
  • Maximum Reward: This field defines the maximum compensation to which the proposal implementers will be entitled if their implementation is executed. It is only applicable for proposals that involve some kind of work or deliverables such as technical development.

Step 3

Click ‘CREATE PROPOSAL’ to sign the transaction. After the proposal has been submitted on-chain, it should appear on the home screen of the portal.

Step 4

Share your proposal in the DAPP Network Governance Telegram channel and ask the DAPP Network community to support it.
