DAPP Network Governance Goes Live!

March started out with a bang when a new governance model was introduced to the DAPP Network community, kicking off the month with a significant development.

A New Governance Model is Introduced

DAPP Network Governance Portal Launches

One day after the DAPP Network governance contracts were deployed, a community hosted governance portal went live at DAPPGovernance.com.

Passing Governance Proposals

Throughout this initial month there have already been five governance proposals, three of which reached a passing vote.

  1. DAPP Network Governance Bootstrap
  2. Change DAPP max supply from 20 billion to dynamic supply
  3. Vote “Yes” to approve the proposed 21 genesis DAPP Network Guardians!

DAPP Governance: Can DAOs-on-DAOs Improve Governing Incentives?

To highlight the launch of DAPP Network governance, Wesley Carmichael wrote a thought provoking article about the expanding world of DAOs and the movement towards increasingly decentralized governance.

The DAPP Network recently implemented a new governance model. This change allows DAPP token holders to decide their own future. The community can create and vote on initiatives and proposals. This change gives more power to community members.

A Look Back at the First Two Years of the DAPP Network

A blog article reflecting back and celebrating two years of accomplishments for the DAPP Network and how interoperability is unlocking new possibilities across the blockchain space.

DAPP Fund Launches DSP and Website

DAPPFund.io

DAPP Fund, an initiative of the DAPP Network community to incentivize growth and participation through DSP service subsidies, launched their much anticipated website this month. On DappFund.io, users are able to stake their DAPP tokens and contribute their inflation to up and coming projects being incubated by DAPP Fund who are in need of DAPP Network services. This is the ultimate bootstrapping, with network stakeholders contributing collectively to support those who will in turn fuel innovation and growth for all.

DAPP Account DAO Launches eCurve

March was a big month for the DAPP Account DAO. On March 15, DAD launched eCurve, a Curve.fi clone for low slippage stablecoin swaps on EOS.

BiFrost Cross-Chain Bridge Brings $1.2m of Stablecoins from Ethereum to eCurve

Leading up to the eCurve launch, DAD deployed BiFrost, a cross-chain bridge powered by DAPP Network tech. Bifrost enables USDC, DAI, and soon UST to be transferred bi-directionally between Ethereum and EOS.

Thanks to the cross-chain bridge, eCurve has already attracted $1.2m of USDC and DAI stablecoin liquidity from Ethereum in its first week alone.

DAPP Labs is Introduced to the DAPP Network Community

DAPP Labs is the DAPP Network’s think tank and innovation arm that aims to encourage and facilitate the exploration of conceptual ideas, experimental services, unconventional prototypes, and potential products. Having such a framework for discussions and demonstrations within the DAPP Network community, including LiquidApps, developers at large, DSPs, and token holders, cross-pollinates the next generation of blockchain innovation and the creation of tomorrow’s solutions to today’s interoperability and scalability challenges.

World Bank and IMF Recognize LiquidApps

The World Bank published an in depth research report covering blockchain interoperability. The paper, co-published by the IMF, highlighted LiquidApps and the DAPP Network developer SDK in its chapter on frameworks for blockchain interoperability. This citation is a significant milestone for LiquidApps and the entire industry as we head towards mainstream user adoption and global regulatory standardization.
