Everyone knows my love for flowers. On my balcony, I had planted different kinds of flowers and was delighted each time I saw them grow.

Since last year, I have been experimenting with vegetables, and my experience was very disappointing initially. I almost gave up because nothing that I grew ever came up.

However, I decided to continue because there is something magical about stepping into the garden early in the morning, brushing against the rain or dew-kissed leaves, and finding that nature has quietly gifted you a harvest overnight.

Recently, I picked my first okra, a handful of green chillies, and a generous bunch of spinach. These are all grown in the small patch I lovingly call my garden.

Each vegetable carries its own story. With its delicate green skin, the slender okra is delicious when lightly sautéed or fried and a reminder of patience.

It needs steady care, regular watering, and a watchful eye for the tiniest blossoms that eventually transform into pods.
