Celebrate
“Life, love and laugh”

My 4-year-old son is a very joyful kid who loves to celebrate his own achievements. At times, he overdoes it a bit but he has some funny points. Like the day that we went biking to the park. He insisted in biking on his own along the biking lane. I was a bit scared but he cycled cautiously on the right side. When we arrived at the park, I congratulated him for having cycled so well. On the way back home he asked me “Mum, shall we go tonight to a restaurant for dinner to celebrate that I can bike very well now?”. I called my husband laughing and he agreed on going out for dinner to celebrate our son’s great achievement.
This reminded me to a book I read during my student time and that I found a few days ago at my mum’s place: “Life, love and laugh” by Osho. The book is a very inspiring source of positivism. I fully recommend you to read it.
One of the things that caught my attention was the importance that the author gives to celebrate life.
Although I don’t celebrate as much as I should, I try to practice gratefulness and to teach that to my kids.
Here are some tips that I find helpful:
- Celebrate your achievements, a good day at work, a nice gesture, an anniversary.
- Encourage your kids, your partner, yourself to join in.
- You don’t need to break the bank for this. Do a picnic at the park, go for an ice cream, cook something especial at home, etc.
- Don’t save your nicest clothes and best cutlery for special occasions. Every day is a special occasion.
- Look for the funny side of the things. Whatever you do, try to make the most out of it and have fun!
Let’s have fun!
