I came across a prompt “And There I Stood” on Instagram, and here’s the piece I wrote for my dearest fiance, Karan Kumar.

Her — falling in love. | Source: https://dribbble.com/shots/4771116-Falling-Girl-Illustration

And there I stood,
watching myself falling in love.

Falling in love with
his eyes, his smile, his face, his cheek.

Falling in love with
the life he gave me,
the calmness he gave me,
the way he looks at me.

Falling in love with
his heart that beats for me,
his eyes that long for me,
his smile that comes with me.
And there I stood, falling in love.

And as I shared this with him, he came out with his version:

And there I stood,
watching her play with her hair,
falling in love.

And there I stood,
seeing her smile,
falling in love.

And there I stood,
getting mesmerised by her beauty.
