90% of us are mislabeling ourselves — just like I did.
For the longest time, I thought I was antisocial.
I had pulled away from people. Social media didn’t excite me anymore. I avoided spontaneous plans and wasn’t in the mood to engage with new people — even when they reached out. I felt disconnected, disinterested, and honestly, just a little weird.
Naturally, I assumed: “I’ve become antisocial.”
But then, I had a phone call with my friend , who gently said something that changed everything:
“You’re not antisocial, you’re more… asocial.”
And that small difference in phrasing opened a huge door of self-awareness.
That’s when I decided to dig deeper — and discovered there’s a whole vocabulary we often misuse.
