Dear Future Husand
You already love me, right? But…
6 April 2025 marked the first anniversary of our Roka ceremony.
For those who wonder what Roka is,
It’s a traditional pre-engagement celebration in India where the couple is officially announced in the presence of their families, friends, and loved ones.
On this occasion, I wrote a quirky poem for my future husband inspired by the song Dear Future Husband by Meghan Trainor.
Dear future husband,
On our first roka anniversary, I’d like to tell you something — so you better survive:
It’s been a year of love, pampering, and daily “yes, baby, you’re right” —
I hope you’ve picked that habit up by now (for your own peace… and mine).
Don’t forget to take me on dates, I always deserve a break —
Preferably with fries, extra dip, and cake.
And yes, bring the flowers — every anniversary,
No excuses, no delays, no room for controversy.
You got that 9 to 5, but baby, so do I —
So keep that pampering coming; don’t even ask why.
When I rant, park your logic, and roll your eyes with me,
Say, “Oh no, she didn’t!” and spill the chai gossip tea.
