How Selfishness and Jealousy Shape Relationships in My Life
You define what it does to you, so how would you?
I came across this story by Brenna Clark, and got into flashbacks, I’d share to calm the overthinking maze of my mind.
I believe selfishness is an umbrella term, and jealousy is a part of it. They might or might not come hand-in-hand.
However, they both play equally important roles in relationships.
They can either make or break them, and I’m not sure how I would want to put it.
While you might say there’s no debate that they’re negative, I’d argue that it’s more complex than that.
Let me explain.
I had a friend in my life for many years, whom I called my BFF. She would come to my home, and we’d spend a lot of time together. People called our bond unbreakable.
Yet, it got broken.
Nothing I didn’t see coming, because her selfishness to behave according to her own definitions of rights and wrongs was enough to make me wonder why I was with her.
But she loved me, and that was one huge catalyst to keep our bond going (by my efforts, of course).
