I’ve discovered the secret to writing top-notch essays

Here’s a tip many students overlook when writing their essays: Professors grade papers fast, so it’s important to make them easy to read. This helps them understand your argument quickly and think it’s well-written, which boosts your score.

However, many students struggle with this. They often wander without a clear point and save the main idea for the end.

Tip #1: The first sentence of each paragraph should collectively provide an executive summary of the entire essay

To enhance clarity, consider this: the first sentence of each paragraph should collectively provide an executive summary of the entire essay. This cohesive approach enables readers to swiftly grasp the key ideas.

Compare the difficulty in discerning the student’s argument in the original version with my revised version. For illustration, I’ve only extracted the first sentence of every paragraph for brevity.

Original:

· The geopolitical dynamics of Russia and Ukraine as we know them today are shaped by a deeply intertwined shared history.

· Moreover, Putin leveraged the significant Russian population in Ukraine to further justify these actions.

· Both Offensive and Defensive Realism offer complementary yet simplistic frameworks for understanding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

· Furthermore, several academics have underscored Realism’s narrow focus on states as the sole actors in IR, promoting a binary worldview.

· In summary, this essay delved into the complexities of the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Revised:

· Russia invaded Ukraine twice for similar reasons.

· This essay analyzes Russia’s invasion of Ukraine through Realism and Feminism.

· Realism includes offensive and defensive perspectives, explaining Russia’s actions.

· Offensive realists see the invasion as Russia’s move to expand power.

· Defensive realism complements offensive realism, explaining the invasion comprehensively.

· In summary, Russia’s recurrent invasions of Ukraine in 2014 and 2022 are explained by Realism’s dual perspectives. Bottom of Form

Tip #2: Never start a sentence with a new fact

Every sentence should logically follow the one before it. Some students cram new facts into every sentence. As my favourite copyeditor, Steven Pinker says:

“Even with the syntax fixed, sentences can be hard to understand if their flow isn’t clear. No amount of tinkering with the wording will solve that.”

(By the way, I highly recommend his book, The Sense of Style. Even after a decade of writing professionally, I still learn something new each time I thumb through it.)

Consider this passage and how abruptly the student switches from Realism theory to Feminism theory without warning. Then, look at how much easier it is to comprehend once I have revised them.

Original: Moving from this critique of Realism, it becomes evident that Feminism offers a contrasting and enriching viewpoint. Contrary to the Realist interpretation, Feminism views Russia’s invasion as a reflection of how gender dynamics and entrenched power constructs critically shape international conflicts.

Revised: However, Realism’s explanation has a notable weakness — it focuses narrowly on states as the exclusive actors in international relations. This weakness can be addressed by a promising alternative theory — Feminism.

Need help with your writing?

Sorry to disappoint you, but I won’t write your essay for you. That would be cheating, and could even backfire on you as shown in a recent experiment by the Straits Times. They hired a ghostwriter to write an essay. It passed plagiarism checks but got an ‘F’. Here’s what the professor who graded it said:

“The essay is not adequately referenced, and reads like a back-cover summary of what you’d find on the back cover of a text… It doesn’t draw any connections to anything we’ve done in the course or any other reading.”

So, save yourself the trouble and write your essay yourself.

But I can legitimately assist you as a copyeditor. Once you’ve done your research and written your draft, I’ll refine it for your. This can be particularly helpful if you find yourself in these situations:

· You have great ideas but struggle to express them effectively. I can help by organizing your thoughts into a coherent argument and ensuring it’s clear and convincing.

· English isn’t your first language. I can help by correcting grammar errors and awkward expressions. I’m fluent in Indonesian and Chinese, so I can ensure your message is accurately conveyed.

· You’re an expert trying to communicate with a general audience. I’ll make your writing crisp and readable by trimming off the long-winded expressions and excessive jargon.

· You’ve rewritten your essay multiple times and need a fresh perspective. I’ll identify areas where additional research may be needed to fill logical gaps in your arguments, as well as transform generic statements into sharp commentaries.

Why choose me?

I understand what makes a great report because I’ve written for top policymakers who demand clarity and precision. My students typically achieve a two-grade improvement after my copyediting.

With my background in Psychology and International Relations, I’m well-versed in editing essays on social science, geopolitical, and defence topics. However, I’m equally capable of handling other subjects. My ability to quickly grasp new concepts and cover a wide range of topics is demonstrated by achievements such as being a Mensa member, holding a first-class honours degree, being the youngest recipient of an Overseas Masters Scholarship, and earning multiple Dean’s List honours.

My rate is $50 per 1000 words, which may be higher than what you find on Fiverr and Upwork. However, you’re investing in quality. Don’t risk your grades — ensure peace of mind with my proven results. Send your essay to daitaouha@gmail.com today.
