There’s a reason I chose the word ‘golden’ in the title — every story in this piece is more golden than the previous one. ✨

As I am getting married in a few months, it feels like I am achieving a huge milestone in my life, but at the same time, I am parting ways with my family. No, the bond won’t change, but I won’t get to spend as much time with them, as I do now.

The harsh reality of life is that nothing is permanent.

With these thoughts in my mind, I planned something special — to give a sort of ‘big gift’ to my dad, mom, and brother, something they would love and cherish as I get married. It was my way of doing something special for them before I go.

I thought maybe I’d run out of money or have responsibilities after marriage, so perhaps now was the best time to do something special for them.

Here’s what I did and how it felt.

I gifted an Apple Watch Series 9 to my dad, something he used to like but hesitated to buy because he thought he might use the money for something more meaningful.
