The Story of Those Three Magical Words
Sometimes, it’s the simplest words that mean the most.
A few days ago, I read a story by , and later, I had a very random conversation related to the story with my partner.
My fiancé made me realise something I never saw coming, especially from a guy.
I asked him, “How often do you say ‘I love you’ to me, and why?”
He replied, “You know that I say ‘I love you’ all the time.”
After a pause, he added, “I’ve never ended a call without saying ‘I love you,’ and I’ve never said goodbye without it, no matter where I am or who I’m with.”
Of course, he was right. He is that guy.
But it got me thinking.
Saying these words or giving such reassurance isn’t something I’ve often heard men do. Most people say that as we mature, especially after marriage, responsibilities take the front seat, and love — or the words expressing it — takes the back seat.
So, I wondered if my fiancé would change, too.
I asked him why he always made it a point to say it, especially when it’s usually women who are more vocal or seek reassurance.
His answer surprised me.
