Background:
This story is part of my 30-Day Medium Challenge, where I’ve committed to posting one journal-style entry every day from May 1 to May 30, 2025. These journal entries are my way of tracking each day with intention, reflection, and gratitude.

Note: Posting this on May 22 because my mom fell ill and I ran behind schedule.

🌅 Morning

Today was supposed to be a good day.

My fiancé was coming to visit and help us out a little since mom is unwell with a spinal disc issue. But the day began with unexpected worry.

I woke up around 9:30 AM to a call from my mom. She told me Dad wasn’t feeling well — dizziness, cold sweats, and vomiting — and he had just thrown up more than once.

We rushed to my parents’ room, and seeing him like that was scary. His whole body was cold and drenched in sweat.

Turns out, he had been doing too much the past few days — walking around in the sun, managing chores he’s not used to. Maybe it was heatstroke. It was just… too much.
