Why Goodbyes Follow You
Looking Back, Just Like That
It was one of those late nights where the heart felt like a quiet museum.
I wasn’t looking for anything, yet memories started walking with me.
I found myself thinking of people, places, versions of myself I’ve outgrown, and the strange yet beautiful way life moves on even when we’re not ready.
So, I wrote something. Not as a story, but as a small reflection. A note to self — and maybe to you, too. Because I believe this isn’t just my story. It’s yours, somewhere, somehow.
We all look back, just like that.
Before you read:
This is not just a poetry— it’s a whisper to myself, and maybe to you too. If you’ve ever looked back without a reason, this might be for you.
Sometimes, I look back — not for a reason, just like that.
To see how far I’ve come. And every time I do, I realize how far we all have come.
So many faces we once knew — not strangers, yet no longer familiar too.
So many paths we don’t intend to walk anymore, and yet, the stories from those roads still live in our hearts and sometimes feel sore.
Life changes so much.
