EPISODE 1: BRAZIL

For episode one we wanted to bring on some guests from Brazil. With the 31st Olympic games coming this August and the political crisis going on in Brazil, there are a lot of eyes on the South American giant. Our guests are Ellen Teixeira Gusmao, an undergrad student from Sete Lagoas, Minas Gerais and Renan Antunes Donadelli, a PhD student from São Paulo.

We had a great conversation about race, food, off the beaten path places to visit, the impeachment of President Dilma Rousseff, among many other topics. We break down misconceptions that people have about Brazilians. Contrary to popular belief, not every Brazilian likes açaí!

We are going to have another episode on Brazil, because there were so many topics to discuss in one hour and our time together flew by too fast. I hope you enjoy and as fans of the show we want your opinions on what you’d like to see differently, questions that you want us to ask guests and suggestions on future guests or countries that you’d like us to cover. We hope you enjoy the show!
