You have to earn your successes.
Success has a way of finding the right people who are worthy of it.
People have all kinds of definitions when it comes to success. It cannot be explained by a few words fixed to fit everyone’s needs. Instead, it is a whole specter of meanings, actions, words, and feelings which you customize according to your believes and needs.
But what is the same for each and every one of us is that success won’t come unless you work for it.
We are so used to getting off easy with things. We want to have so much in life, without really making all that much effort. Of course, this generalization does not apply to all human beings, but the majority of people.
But you know what? You’ve probably heard this already, dreams won’t work unless you do.
It’s a simple truth that we all need to live by.
Dreaming about success is completely normal, and an encouraging thing to do for that matter. It’s completely normal to have your own dreams of how life is supposed to be for you. It’s an uplifting feeling, and it gives us a purpose in life. Without our dreams and ambitions, we are nothing.
However, what seems to be the problem here is that too many people dream, and only a few of them actually try to chase these dreams and reach them.
So don’t get me wrong when I say “don’t dream for success”, because you are most certainly allowed to do this, and I also encourage you to have your aspirations in life. Nevertheless, what I want you to focus on, is the part where you have to work for them.
Without it, your dreams will remain just that — dreams, and they will be something imaginary that you have no courage pursuing in real life.
Let’s have a closer look at what it means to daydream, and how you can turn your dreams into reality.
The Benefits of Daydreaming
If someone says to you that by daydreaming you are doing a negative thing that will not have a good effect on your life, do not listen to them.
On the contrary, dreaming about something, commonly manifested through a concept known as “daydreaming” can have many positive effects on our motivation and the general desire to do something.
There are several benefits when it comes to daydreaming including the following:
- It promotes creativity. Daydream is known to influence people’s creativity, by helping them get new ideas. Some people might believe that daydreaming is just a waste of precious time, but you are giving your brain the freedom to wander through your thoughts, and this can lead to developing new ideas and creative solutions for the problems you might be experiencing.
- Daydreamers are better problem solvers. Correlated to what I previously said, creativity is enhanced through daydreaming, making the people who do this better problem solvers than others. It’s because we let our minds rest for a little bit, and they get the energy to face life easier.
- It improves your working memory. Yes, daydreaming does that and it is scientifically proven. There is a correlation between working memory or the ability to store and recall information and daydreaming. Apparently, by resting your brain, the patterns of neuronal activity will help past events to reappear.
- Finally, all the best people do it. Did you know that the famous theory of relativity was the product of Albert Einstein’s daydreaming? Or so it is believed. Allegedly, Einstein was daydreaming about running to the edge of our universe, which influenced his work.
However, do you know what the difference between examples such as Albert Einstein and other successful and prominent people throughout history and daydreamers is?
It’s not enough to rely on daydreaming only. You need to use it as an advantage to actually reach your dreams.
So as good as daydreaming is, you need to know when to stop and take action.
Know When to Stop
At some point in your life, if you want to get the success you are aiming for, you need to take action. To do that, you need to stop daydreaming and turn towards executing your ideas and dreams.
Often people like to complain about everyday life. About the job they did not get, how much they hate the one they have now, about the people in their life, the mistakes they made, and the things they did or did not do.
We love to complain. It’s the best way of coping with the fact that we are actually not doing anything at all to make our lives better. Plus, it’s easier than to actually do something about it.
But doing this will get you nowhere. If you know what you want in life, and what your dreams are made of, you should, without a doubt, pursue it instead of complaining.
If you want changes, make changes.
So the moment you start feeling bad about yourself or feel the urge to complain about something, it usually means that it is time to stop dreaming, and start doing something.
It’s time to take action.
Take Action and Start Working for Your Success
Success demands work. You need to put some effort if you want to see results in every sphere in your life.
No matter what your definition of success is, to reach it you need to start somewhere and work until you get to the finish line. There is no quitting.
You can work smart, you can work hard, and the best way to see results fast is to combine these two.
Ultimately, with the right mindset, a reachable and attainable dream will become your new reality. As long as you know when to daydream, when not to, and when it is the right time to take action and start working for it.
Your dreams won’t turn into reality out of the blue. You need to deserve them. To be successful means to earn it.
Therefore, I advise you not to only dream about it, but also to work hard and smart for it. Even if it takes a lot of time, the end goal will be worth the effort you’ve put into achieving it.
So stop procrastinating, stop with the excuses, stop complaining.
Life is not easy and you need to cross many obstacles before you get to the wanted destination.
It’s time to start working for your dreams, and success will follow.
