For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do. — Ephesians 2:10

It takes roughly three years to bring a vehicle from sketch to showroom. During that time, millions of hours will be spent crafting every aspect of the vehicle. Everything, from how it looks to what it can do, is refined and tailored to make that vehicle great for the role it serves within our lineup.

Consider the Mustang and F-150. Ford has spent over half a century crafting versions of those two iconic nameplates. And though the Mustang and F-150 are both incredible vehicles that have stood the test of time, they are also very different from each other. They were intentionally designed to serve different purposes.

A Mustang isn’t meant to haul equipment around a construction site, and an F-150 isn’t very effective around a racetrack. Those vehicles are best when fulfilling the tasks they were designed for. As a result, they complement each other, rather than compete with each other. They weren’t meant to stand alone, rather as part of a diverse lineup.

So don’t get caught up comparing yourself to other people at school, work, or social media. Rather, embrace the unique person that God crafted you to be. The combination of your circumstances, personality, passions, looks, and abilities is distinct to you, and allows God to use you for a purpose specially suited to you!

For it was you who created my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wondrously made. Your works are wondrous, and I know this very well. — Psalm 139:13–14
