John Clements Consultants, Inc. (JCCI) held its Corporate Planning session last November 16–17, 2017 at the West Room of the Manila Golf and Country Club in Makati City. Attendees from different divisions of John Clements — EDI Staffbuilders, Executive Search and Selection Division, Harvard Business Publishing, Professional Staffers, Staffbuilders Asia, and Services — came to highlight their respective performances from January to October 2017, as well as discuss their learnings, insights, and future plans.

Day 1

JCCI President and CEO Carol Dominguez kicked off the CorPlan with an inspiring welcome speech, followed by Michael Cannon, who presented a talk on Building a Digital Culture, where he described the digital culture, discussed the importance of digital transformation and the primary challenges facing organizations embarking on digital transformation, and gave several recommendations on how to implement the transformation.

After the talk, the Harvard Business Publishing division gave a report on their performance, followed by Staffbuilders Asia.

Next, Tully Moss gave a presentation on Lessons from Silicon Valley. He spoke about the executives they met during their trip to Silicon Valley and shared the ways automation and training programs for machine learning are currently underway in the companies they saw. With technology outpacing the readiness of humans, Tully said that education should be the primary concern of the Philippines.

After the discussion, EDI Staffbuilders and Professional Staffers gave their presentations.

At the end of the day, VP and Managing Director Mario Biscocho did a recap on the learnings and summaries from the different presentations.

Day 2

The second day began with EDI Staffbuilders President and CEO Cesar Averia and Staffbuilders Asia Vice President Rita Estella sharing their summary of the previous day, followed by performance reports from ESSD and Services.

Tully Moss then gave a presentation on Dual Transformation, based on the book of Scott Anthony, who recently came to the Philippines to talk about Dual Transformation. Here, Tully shared the areas of Dual Transformation and how to go about the process with both the core and new growth opportunities.

He emphasized that for companies choosing to undergo Dual Transformation, they must learn to ground their story with a motivating purpose, something beyond revenues in order to get people on board, and be able to create a compelling story for the future.
