We do get stressed from time to time. Pandemic, work reports, deadlines, sales quota to meet, etc. Working from home can also be taxing. Balancing taking care of loved ones while coping with the deadlines at work is extra challenging, you know. The fact also that Covid-19 isn’t going away soon is exhausting at its best. We worry. Every. Single. Day.

So, why don’t we have fun at least once a week, and forget about our worries even for an hour and engage with our colleagues, albeit virtually?

With this in mind, the Services division organized Game Night: Name that Tune via Zoom on Friday, March 26th where players were made to guess the title of the song from the 60s to the 2020s. Categories included famous songs from each decade, including KPop, Original Pilipino Music (OPM), and Boy Band.

We grouped the players randomly so they could get to know other members from different divisions, especially the new employees. The players should listen to the song and type on the chat box their team number with the title of the song. Some players commented that it was really a typing contest because the faster you type, the more chances you win and get the points — provided of course, that the song title is correct.

The competitive spirit among us kept the game going! Who would have thought that Baby Boomers could guess Dynamite by BTS within a few notes? Bangtan Army in the House! So much respect to the Boomers!

From Archie’s “Sugar Sugar” to The Chainsmokers’ “Don’t Let Me Down”, everyone had a great time guessing the songs within 10 seconds, even lesser! Surprising though is that even Gen Z’s know songs from the 60s! #Respect

There was some heckling, which was expected, being competitive players they were. But we were all good! Not sure if Psy though would be happy to hear that his billionth time-watched song on YouTube was mistaken as Poppa Gangnam Style. It’s an honest mistake, we’re pretty sure! Korean songs are indeed confusing, especially if you’re not really into K-pop.

Some players forgot the title of the song and came up with their own, which was even more hilarious. Someone typed “I’ll Kill It That Way” when guessing a song from Backstreet Boys. Another one thought Beyonce’s song was just meant for one lady, so he answered, “Single Lady”. Hilarious! I almost choked laughing while reading their answers on the chat box!

The Zoom version of the game was so fun that usually, our online games last for half an hour or an hour at least, but we played Name that Tune for an hour and a half and no one seemed to mind because we were all enjoying the game!

Engrossed and having the time of our lives, we temporarily forgot about the challenges at work, and the anxiety the coronavirus has brought upon us. As they say, laughter is a great form of stress relief, and that’s no joke. Laughter with colleagues is even better. We’re once again, young, carefree — Baby Boomers to Gen Z — reminiscing the songs we relate to with good times. And happy we were.

At the end of the day, that’s all that matters really.
