When we talk about building a career, parents often put up a list of becoming a doctor, an engineer, maybe an IAS or an IPS officer or so. But do all of the teenagers agree to become one? Probably not, they are more driven towards their passion, their hobbies and tend to build their career in one of them. E-Sports or electronic sports are one amongst the passion and desire of teenagers.

2020 has not just given wings to all the dreams of them, but also a new direction through the technology. E-Sports, where all the professional gamers meet and compete on a large scale either individually or as in teams, are all based upon this developing technology.

Coronavirus has impacted a lot on the economy and development of the country adversely, but e-Sports is something which has been benefitted a lot in every aspect. I by myself had read in an article headline before, that 2020 will be the change for the gaming world. Maybe the gamers knew it all before the WHO.

People are more often mistaken when we talk about e-Sports. They consider themselves as an e-Sports Professional after they start playing worldwide famous game PUBG Mobile. Maybe because of the fact, that it changed the lives of many players.

Along with this famous game among teenagers and amateurs, League of Legends, Dota 2, Football, Overwatch, Free Fire, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO), Apex Legends, Arena of Valor, and many more are also included in this field of sports. Twitch and YouTube are the platforms gamers generally use for streaming their gameplay and competitive matches. Football has got another way of being played over the screen instead of real playgrounds during this pandemic. Nothing can be better than this in such a terrible time. The developers too are implementing their best ideas and creating real effects in the reel world for attracting more passionate youngsters.

Also, Intel had announced to include e-Sports in the 2020 Summer Olympics to give gamers a different view and level. These tournaments have also started being cast on television to create awareness and to boost up the enthusiasm among the new generation.

People have lifted from Super Mario and GTA series, which gave a lot of importance to the gaming world. Every gamer is trying to improve more and enter the battlefield to show their skills and tactics in the arena. This lockdown period has also helped gamers a lot to get closer to their dreams and improvement. This does not just improve concentration power, IQ, control as well as coordination of eyes and hand, sharp insight, but also an ability to think well and has enhanced team spirit among players. E-Sports also aims at building leadership quality as leadership, like coaching, is fighting for the hearts and souls of the men and getting them to believe in you. The world is changing so is the perspective, and by the end of 2020, we surely will have a new set of better players.

Although in this global land of competition, India still is lacking behind somehow due to unawareness and less support from the parents. Children and their parents do not understand each other’s POV and keep barking up the wrong tree. But, players are trying their best by learning more, performing better every time on their own, and making people believe that it is a blessing in disguise. In the upcoming decades, India too will give strong and tough competition as society is changing and every cloud has a silver lining.

By putting a haul to my words would like to conclude that gaming can be a passion as well as a profession, it depends on how we work on our flaws as persistence can change failure into extraordinary. Because someone has rightly said, your future depends on many things but mostly on you. And 2020 is the icing on the cake.

According to e-Sports motto:

“At their highest level, all competitive disciplines become vehicles for the expression of one’s human potential.”
