THE RED PLANET has been on mind of scientists for a very long time. The sign of water being present gives us a lot to think about, was there life on mars before ?, if yes then what happened. There are talks about leaving our planet earth because of it’s dying nature , which of course are being destroyed by us humans.

There have been many trials and missions to fly spacecrafts to mars, few failed and few succeeded. The very first attempt was done by Soviet Union on 10th October 1960, but it failed to launch. The race to explore mars has been very long , every country and their scientists wanted to explore the red planet. The first successful fly by mission was done by none other than NASA. With their successful launch of MARINER 4 on 28 November 1964 they successfully flew by Mars on 15th July 1965.Soviet union also succeeded in 1971 but only after 3 successful launches done by NASA .

Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX wants to make base on moon and reach Mars . They have been testing their rockets and spacecrafts as of now. They successfully sent two astronauts to International Space Station following a two month test flight. They returned back on 2nd August making it a successful mission. There has been 4 mars missions in July 2020.

Elon musk in his interview said ‘Mars is looking real’ after SpaceX test rocket makes first flight, landing upright.

SpaceX launched a prototype of its Mars rocket-ship hundreds of feet into the air, then landed it upright in a successful test flight.

The flight was only for 45 seconds and it reached just 500 feet or 150 meters in Texas and it was an important test flight for SpaceX. “Mars is looking real,” SpaceX founder and chief executive Elon Musk tweeted after the short hop. “Progress is accelerating.”

SpaceX’s Starship spacecraft and Super Heavy rocket (collectively referred to as Starship) represent a fully reusable transportation system designed to carry both crew and cargo to Earth orbit, the Moon, Mars and beyond. Starship will be the world’s most powerful launch vehicle ever developed, with the ability to carry in excess of 100 metric tonnes to Earth orbit.

With every year the progress is significant and it’s look possible to be able to reach mars and someday even make it a place to live for people. We are going to leave these missions in capable hands and hope we one day live to see it with our eyes.
