The Sudeeksha Bhati Case
The lifespan of a talented student, the one who defeated all obstacles to relish her academic victory was doused out in no time in U. P’s Bulandshahr. Her death was because she tried to get away from the persecution of some offenders. Sudeeksha Bhati, daughter of a Tea Shop holder expired on Monday morning in Aurangabad when she was handling a passenger seat on a motorbike with her sibling, a minor. The 20-year-old girl, on a call home from the US where she was studying, expired in Bulandshahr in a road mishap. Her family supposedly reports that the accident was because of the 2 men in motorbike following their daughter and harassing her. The officers, however, maintain a dead silence and claim that she expired in a road mishap. The incident has created a National scandal with several thumping the failing Law&Order condition in the U.P for the demise of the College pupil. Under major pressure, the UP Police department has now arranged for an SIT to inquiry about the incident.
THE OCCURRENCE
Sudeeksha and her younger brother were on their way to their maternal uncle’s house in Bulandshahr from their home. Sudeeksha’s family has supposedly reported that she was harassed while going to her uncle’s home by the 2 anonymous people. “The miscreants were fleeting remarks on Sudeeksha and were irritatingly trying to overhaul her and do maneuvers. Swiftly, their bike collided with Sudeeksha’s Scooter and lost control. Sudeeksha croaked straight away,” said Sudeeksha’s uncle. The occurrence has provoked the Bulandshahr district government to place an inquiry.
INSTITUTE TOPPER WITH SCHOLARSHIP’S
The firstborn amongst the 6 siblings, Bhati had a resentful academic report. “She got admitted to our institution in 2011 in her 6TH grade, in 2018 she secured 98 % in class 12 and outdid the district,” said Bishwajit Banerjee, the Principal of Sikandrabad Vidyagyan Institute, Bulandshahr. She had secured a faultless 100 in 2 topics, Economics and History and she got 99% in Geography. She then bagged a scholarship from Babson College, Massachusetts (US) worth Rs 3.8 crores, and was completing her Graduation course on Entrepreneurship, he stated. Her family and close relatives told that she flew down to India because of the Coronavirus epidemic and was planned to fly back to the US on the 20TH of August.
POLICE REFUTE PERSECUTION RESPONSIBILITY
The Police officers claim that Sudeeksha died in an accident and nobody was racing her Scooter. Atul Kumar Srivastava, Additional Superintendent of Police City reported the presence of traffic Police on the road where the accident happened. “A Royal Enfield bullet which was driving past them abruptly halted due to deceleration, Sudeeksha’s scooter which had her brother in it bumped into it from the back. “She grieved wounds in the mishap and was admitted to a Community Health center but she croaked,” he stated.
The officers claimed that the duo was not having their helmets when the accident happened and it was Sudeeksha’s minor brother who was motoring the vehicle. In an alleged video that is being viral on social platforms, Bhati’s brother told, “We were on a scooter at a speed of 30 km per hour. The men on the Bullet were driving close to us and suddenly started to use handbrakes. Their Bullet had ‘Jat Boys’ extolled on its number plate and its number began with UP-13”. ASP Srivastava stated that Bhatia’s brother hasn’t revealed anything about the persecution to the Police at the time of occurrence.
Ravindra Kumar, District Magistrate elucidated that it was her brother and not her uncle as being rumored by some spectators, who was driving the vehicle. According to Police reports, Sudeeksha’s uncle’s cellphone location displayed Dadri at the time of the incident, clearly stating that he wasn’t present at the accident spot. Officers reported that Sudeeksha’s uncle told the police that he was riding the scooter to protect his nephew from fault.
CCTV CAPTURES 2 MEN NEAR THE DELINQUENCY AREA
While the Police claim that Sudeeksha’s death is an accident. The CCTV tape from nearby the accident spot displays 2 men driving a Bullet hurtling away 5 minutes after the accident. The CCTV shots were shot by a camera straddled at a clothing shop 3 km off, from the spot of the incident. The District management has stated that the officials investigating the case haven’t found any proof of persecution, the Police are said to be examining the footage for more evidence.
The occurrence caught the attention of the National Commission for Women (NCW) and Rekha Sharma, the chairperson. She wrote to the UP Police principal requesting him to confirm a rapid, reasonable, and detailed inquiry into the case and acquiesce an action taken record at the initial phase. “Bearing in mind the seriousness of the issue, it is entreated that the CCTV tape may be plaid,” she said in the note.
The DM stated 3 teams have been assigned with 2 circle generals and an inspector amidst others as adherents to inquiry about the issue. He also told the officials in Bulandshahr are attempting to interact with Sudeeksha’s family in Dadri but, have been inept to reach them overcall. They have been sent back home and further inquiry is in progress, he added. The Bulandshahr Senior Superintendent of Police constituting a 3-member SIT, controlled by Diksha Singh, Circle Officer City will enquire the case and submit a report by Tuesday evening said the DM. The other 2 adherents of the crew are Crime Branch officers.
INCIDENT SPURS DOGMATIC DISGRACE
As the update on the accident spread on various social platforms, Political leaders resonated with the People’s Sentiment, reprimanding the UP administration and challenging a rapid inquiry in the case. Political contenders, Congress, and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) confronted the BJP-directed UP Government over the Law&Order condition in the state. “How will our daughters grow and develop? The UP government must take stern lawful action against the perpetrators proximately, this is a claim from the BSP,” BSP leader and ex-Chief Minister Mayawati twittered in Hindi.
Priyanka Gandhi, Congress General Secretary also twittered lambasting the Yogi Adityanath Government. “It appears the Government doesn’t take occurrences of Eve-Teasing extremely,” she mentioned it in her tweet in Hindi. In the other tweet, she shared an old clip of Sudeeksha conveying an “emotional speech”. “This descendant of UP said that several girls of her age have to quit studies due to eve-teasing,” the Congress front-runner said. “Now, this nuisance has murdered Sudeeksha. The Government will enquire where is the answer to the problem? The answer to the problem is in the voice of our daughters? Only if you pay to heed”.
