Who doesn’t love having a smaller smartphone wrapped around their wrist and has enough unique features to make it different from a typical smartphone? Smartwatches are the next step in our ever-evolving tech world; an invention to transform a simple watch to an awesome handheld device.

India is also one of the leading consumers of smart devices and smartwatches are no exception. So here is a list of some of the anticipated smartwatches set to be released in 2020 any time soon.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 2

Samsung is way behind the schedule but the Galaxy Watch 1 remains the most loved wearable. The watch was expected to be launched along with Note 10 (https://www.samsung.com/in/smartphones/galaxy-note10/) but it never came out nor with the S20 (https://www.samsung.com/in/smartphones/galaxy-s20/) series. Talking about specifications we got a leak which suggests that it would have GPS, LTE, a 5 ATM water resistance rating, a 45mm stainless steel case, military-standard durability, and uses Gorilla Glass DX. It features a rotating bezel and to be honest, a tech-geek like me would love it! The rotating bezel was also featured in the first edition. The Galaxy watch has appeared at FCC so the release is expected to take place any time soon.

Huawei Watch GT 2e

Huawei has just launched its watch in India for a price of Rs.11,990. The watch is to be sold on e-commerce websites. In India, it is available on Flipkart and Amazon.

The watch comes with a decent look of stainless steel body and integrated straps and is available in 4 vivid colors. Featuring an AMOLED display and 100 workout modes and 15 dedicated professional modes and, its battery life is over 2 weeks, as claimed by the company. Considering this, it is awesome and also features a SpO2 feature which measures oxygen blood level. These are the highlights in addition to the regulars in this smartwatch.

Realme Watch

Realme has started expanding its business from smartphone manufacturing to smart appliances production. The teaser of the smartwatch was dropped on their Twitter account and is set to be released along with the Realme TV. The design of the watch is quite similar to the Apple watch, no surprises! The specification is not much known but some reports claim that it will feature a 1.4 LCD screen, along with a heart rate sensor and blood oxygen level monitor.

Oppo Watch

Oppo launched its first watch in China. Looking at the sales and the market of Oppo in India would probably indicate of launching it. Oppo is yet to make an official statement on the launch outside China. Oppo Watch sports a 1.91-inch 3D flexible hyperboloid display and looks quite similar to the Apple Watch. It is powered by the company’s own Dual-Chip Endurance System, which includes a primary Qualcomm Snapdragon processor paired with a secondary Oppo Apollo processor.

Redmi Smartwatch

Redmi rebranded as Xiaomi launched its smartwatch in China. The smartwatch is all set up for launch in India. Not much is known about the watch but it said that it will run Google’s Wear OS operating system. The processor is said to be of Qualcomm Snapdragon wear processor. The smartwatch has got a BIS certificate which indicates that the company will be soon revealing the release date in India.

Timex Ironman R300

Timex is back in the smartwatch market. To be honest, in the world of bezel-less screens we have a watch with so thick bezels and a UI mix of touch and key interface. The retro look is the main attraction, but this big watch doesn’t have much to offer which makes it different. This GPS smartwatch is good at tracking workouts, and the battery life is insane. The battery life of this lightweight watch is said to be 25 days and with GPS permanently on it has a life of 20 hours. It is expected to release in India soon.
