Life Gives You Lemon: The Liberal Devil and His Harem of Fools

Dear Reader.

I recall, as a younger man, a spring afternoon where I took a stroll round a well-known park of London. The verdant lawns stretched before me, the birds sung their elegant song and, as I neared the corner of the park, I came to a most wonderful sight.

There, on a box, stood a man. Around him, a small crowd. I came closer, my mop-cap in hand. The man was speaking. I will recall what he was saying — no attempt, for, you see, my memory is sharp as a tack. For an example, I recall, once, when I was a young man, I walked round the parks of London. I saw a gentleman speaking, with great vigour. I will tell you what he was saying, for it changed my life.

I recall my grandfather loved my grandmother very much. He used to correspond with her, during the necessary and bloody skirmish with the fruit people, on an old sterling silver typewriter, which has since been passed to me and on which I am communicating with you today.

A lot has changed since those days — now we, as a nation and as individuals, are forced into constricted channels of rhetoric. No longer can we stand on such a box and declare truths. Now, that soapbox is made of cheap tin, and rusts beneath our boots.

Be wary of the devil at our gates!
