New guidelines brought out today by the British Red Cross suggest sushi as the new government approved donation for the nation’s in-need; primarily as the omega-3 rich ‘finger food’ will cut down on wasteful plastic cutlery.

Starting from next April, the British Red Cross has indicated that they will be rolling out a new scheme that involves giving sushi — rather than bulkier, more hard-to-pick-up meals — to the nation’s Homeless. This follows an announcement from the Government regarding a new initiative to cut down on the use of plastics, as part of the G2 Environmental Summit.

‘This can only improve things’ states the Government’s Homeless Tzar Roger Bamble-Coltsby.

‘The wonderful thing is that this scheme works on three distinct levels;

  1. It saves on plastics
  2. It is better for them than the packets of Brown Sauce they normally eat
  3. It stops them from having a knife. A homeless man with a knife — be it plastic, copper, whatever — is not just bad for the environment; it’s bad for our children.

If the pilot scheme is successful, Tapas will be considered.’

Itsu and Wasabi, new Brand Ambassadors of The British Red Cross, are said to be ‘velly happy smirey china-men.’
