It seems like a recurring and redundant narrative as more information is unveiled day by day in the case of Terrence Crutcher.

Officer Betty Shelby is currently charged with First Degree Manslaughter

On September 16, 2016, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Crutcher was fatally shot by officer Betty Shelby. Needless to say, Crutcher was an unarmed African American who was initially approached for his car stopped in the middle of the road. In my honest opinion, anything between the lines of that narrative is irrelevent.

As visuals were released days after, Tulsa officals twisted the story to the cops defense by stating that Terrence Crutcher was failing to comply with officers and proceeded to reach into the driver side window at the time shots went off. After further investigation, it was revealed that Crutcher was not armed and remained with his arms up.

NOW, Officer Betty Shelby pleads not guilty, due to “auditory exclusion.” The lawyer explains that it is a case of officer Shelby being temporarily deaf due to a high stress situation.

“She didn’t hear the gunshot, didn’t hear the sirens coming up behind her just prior to the shot,” Wood (Officer Shelby’s Lawyer) said Thursday.

It’s not only a common phenomenon described in literature, but it’s the №1 perceptual distortion by people I have represented who have been involved in shootings — diminished sound or complete auditory exclusion,” he argued.

Let’s take a moment. Stay woke!
