The Uncertainty of a Certain Illness

Not knowing what the day will bring is a certainty

Iwas diagnosed with lupus in August, 2017. I had no idea at the time how this diagnosis would change my life forever.

Lupus is an autoimmune disease that basically tricks your body into attacking itself. It’s all about inflammation and the havoc that it wreaks on your system.

It’s not pretty.

It’s not fun.

No one suffering from any type of chronic illness will say that their day-to-day existence is a walk in the park. Such is the nature of many a disease. But an autoimmune illness such as lupus comes with its own circle of hell that is unique to those who suffer from it. It’s in the not knowing.

Not knowing what each day will bring is a challenge in and of itself.

Not having that control to equivocally say what you can and can’t do on any given day. What’s that phrase about “the best laid plans?”

An autoimmune illness such as lupus comes with its own circle of hell that is unique to those who suffer from it. It’s in the not knowing.
