BREAKING: LeBron James Breaks All-Time Scoring Record
Sports editor Will Lyons breaks down LeBron James historic accomplishment breaking Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s longtime scoring record.
The storied career of future Hall of Famer LeBron James is one that has been scrutinized widely by fans and media alike. With averages of 30.2 PPG, 8.5 RPG and 7 APG, LeBron continues to produce at a high level unlike anything we have seen through year 19. In an era of load management James has been a model of consistent production that has allowed him to do what was once thought to be an unachievable feat. At the age of 38 LeBron has become the NBA’s all time leading scorer passing all-time great Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s astounding 38, 387 points while playing 100 less games than KAJ.
The scariest thing about LBJ breaking this record is the fact that he still appears to have plenty left in the tank and at his current pace he could be the league’s first player to score 40k regular season points. Add in the 19 All star appearances, 4 MVP and Finals MVP trophies and other accolades and you have a legitimate GOAT argument. The only thing left for LeBron to do at this point is become the first player to play in the league at the same time as one of his sons (No pressure Bronny).
