Eagles Star Quarterback Jalen Hurts has signed a 5 year extension. The former second round pick has come to terms on a deal that is worth $255 million over 5 seasons. With $179 million guaranteed and $51 million per season — the Hurts family has secured generational wealth.

Jalen gets security, and the Eagles get peace of mind, knowing their QB spot is guaranteed and they can avoid a dramatic season (like the Baltimore Ravens are currently facing).

Hurts will receive a fully guaranteed $110 million at signing and the most significant detail of the deal is a no-trade clause. This allows Jalen to control his destiny should the team want to possibly move him in the future in the ever-changing landscape of the NFL.

After a 14–3 season that ended in a Super Bowl loss, things are looking extremely optimistic in Philadelphia. Coach Siriani and Hurts can continue to terrorize the NFC East with the opportunity to add weapons in the draft. Hurts was the AP Most Valuable Player last season and now he is the highest paid player in NFL history. After being benched at Alabama, transferring out and betting on his talents — Hurts is now a household name.

Throwing for 3,701 yards, 22 TDs-6 Ints and running for 760 yards with 13 TDs bring a different type of bargaining power to the table. Now we wait to see the extensions for players like Justin Herbert and former MVP Lamar Jackson. Pay close attention to the Ravens situation, as the Hurts deal resets the market after the horrendous fully guaranteed extension the Cleveland Browns previously gave QB Deshaun Watson.
