Culture Conversations: Myles Truitt
Culture Editor Bianca Gregg sits down with ‘BMF’ star, Myles Truitt, to discuss his character “B-Mickie,” loyalty within friendship and vulnerability as a Black man.
Myles Truitt has been in the acting game since he was a child, starring in ‘Kin,’ ‘Stranger Things’ and ‘The New Edition Story.’ He is now best known for his role in ‘BMF’ as “B-Mickie,” a close friend and lieutenant to Demetrius Flenory. B-Mickie is often met at the crossroads of remaining loyal or pursuing what is best for him.
This season, B-Mickie finds himself on a course of self destruction when he must decide to give up Meech or head to prison for the rest of his life. When B-Mickie finally comes forth with the truth about his deal with Detective Bryant to Meech, we see Meech try to stand with his brother and protect him.
I asked Truitt about how he prepared for such an emotional scene at the end of episode 8 as well as asking him what he sees for B-Mickie’s future.
