Duke University’s head coach Jon Scheyer offered class of 2024 rising prospect: Pat Ngongba. Standing tall at 6 feet 10 inches, the Paul the VI center has an impressive set of skills and a special kind of connection tying him to the Duke program. With two commitments in the 2024 class (Isaiah Evans and Darren Harris, both wings), Duke is aiming to bolster their roster by recruiting the skilled center.

Pat Ngongba’s recent body transformation has had a profound impact on his performance, leading to a significant improvement in his game. He’s become significantly more agile, showcasing his ability to excel both inside the paint and outside with his soft touch from the three-point arc. Ngongba possesses an impressive wingspan, and decent athleticism. Furthermore, he exhibits remarkably clean footwork, showcasing a diverse range of post moves. He also demonstrates exceptional dexterity in effectively using both hands around the basket. He consistently gets his hands on the ball and utilizes his large frame effectively on the block.

Paul VI/ Team Takeover/Duke Connection

Recruting Paul VI and Team Takeover have proven to be highly advantageous for Duke recently. Duke has successfully gained a commitment from Darren Harris, a talented 2024 wing known for his exceptional shooting skills. Interestingly, Harris happens to be both Ngongba’s high school and AAU teammate, which further strengthens Duke’s chances in their pursuit of the promising rising big man. Other former Paul VI/Team Takeover players include Jeremy Roach, who is now a senior guard and captain at Duke University, and Trevor Keels, a former Blue Devil who currently plays for the New York Knicks.
