Ladies and gentlemen let’s talk about Carter Bryant! A super talented Wing/Forward, who is currently #4 in 2024 recruiting class according to 247 Sports. NBA scouts are showing a keen interest in him, he’s drawing comparisons to the legendary Grant Hill and rightfully so. Exciting news came on April 26, 2023, when Carter officially committed to play for the University of Arizona.

Offense:
Carter Bryant, standing at 6'8" with ongoing growth, possesses the ideal physical attributes for a modern-day wing or stretch 4 player. His length, athleticism, and motor enable him to be highly effective on both ends of the court. Bryant combines speed, agility, and explosiveness, giving him an advantage over opponents of different sizes. He possesses a tight handle and makes good decisions in tight spaces. He has the ability to break down his defender in isolation plays, as well as initiate the offense, making him an incredibly valuable asset on the offensive end.

In terms of shooting, Bryant’s mechanics are sound, featuring a remarkably smooth release, great arc, and a fairly quick release. His middle game is elite, excelling at catching the ball on the elbows and mid-post areas, facing up defenders, and utilizing jab steps, shot fakes, hesitation dribbles, and other moves to create space. While his improvement as a standstill shooter from beyond the arc is evident, he continues to work on expanding his range. Bryant is an absolute nightmare in transition, attacking the rim with authority and displaying his ability to rise up for powerful dunks or execute finesse layups. Additionally, his arsenal of post moves makes him a difficult assignment for opposing defenses, further adding to his versatility on the court.

Defense:
Bryant’s toughness and commitment to defense is evident. He has the ability to guard players at various positions, ranging from smaller guards to larger forwards. He’s a ballhawk on defense, as he consistently disrupts opponents’ flow, utilizing his agility, wingspan, and lateral movement. Bryant’s quick feet enable him to effectively maintain defensive positioning against his opponents, whether on the perimeter or in the post. Moreover, his long arms prove to be a valuable physically attribute as he often deflects or blocks shots and secures steals in the passing lanes. Notably, he exhibits remarkable recovery skills when he get’s beat or finds his self out of position, excelling in blocking shots at the rim. With his defensive versatility, Bryant becomes an immediate impact at the next level, making him an ideal fit for Tommy Lloyd and the Arizona Wildcats.

Outlook:

You can see that Bryant has a confidence about himself that comes from a strong belief in GOD. Although Bryant has all the intangibles he knows the work is where he’s going to improve with consistency. Carter is only scratching the surface of his potential, steadily growing under the watchful guidance of his father, D’Cean Bryant, a former forward for Long Beach State.
