Off the heels of one of the most explosive and controversial scenes from the Power Universe, actor London Brown who plays Marvin in ‘Raising Kanan’ sits down with culture editor Bianca Gregg for an exclusive interview.
I had the amazing opportunity to sit down with actor London Brown to talk more about his role as Uncle Marvin on ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan.’ Brown is passionate about his character as well as the methods he takes to bring Marvin Thomas to life. The character displays the essence and layers in many of us. As much as we can all be lighthearted and laugh, we all have our triggers and can find ourselves getting carried away in real life emotions. Marvin is human and that makes him relatable.
Episode 9 of ‘Raising Kanan’ is arguably one of the most talked about and debated episodes in the Power Universe. Brown did a stellar job bringing life to the scene between himself and his daughter Jukebox — played by Hailey Kilgore. The scene, as controversial as it is, solidifies London’s portrayal of Marvin as one of my personal favorites because he gave the character that human depth we look for in characters on television and film.
