Last Sunday’s final scene of ‘Insecure’ left Issa and Molly reeling from the shots they took at one another and it surely left all of us gagging chile!

Tonight’s episode opens up with Issa in bed revisiting her argument with Molly, specifically when Molly called her selfish, it clearly stuck. Issa checks the Block Party’s Facebook page and sees tons of positive comments about the event. She checks her voicemail and hears that everyone is checking to make sure she is okay from the previous night’s fall out with Molly. Still down, she has a conversation with Mirror Issa and chile, Mirror Issa is an instigator. She essentially tells Issa not to reach out to Molly and worry about herself.

Issa decides on a Self-care Sunday. She cleans up her place and makes a run for wine where she meets a pregnant woman begging someone to buy her groceries. Mirror Issa tells Issa not to do it and of course she does. Issa’s card gets declined and the pregnant woman decides this is way worse than her own situation and tells Issa nevermind. On Issa’s way to a Paint & Sip she picks up George, a man that missed the bus. George is wild and he is no stranger to fun with his niggas. I loved the entire scene chile!

My personal favorite quote, “Wanna give a nigga help, then help a nigga out!” I yelled!

At the Paint & Sip, Issa meets a group of young women from D.C. celebrating their friend’s bachelorette party. Shout out to our boo from childhood on up to adulthood, the beautiful Kayla Pratt. Issa shares her wine with the girls as they share memories of their friendship, which clearly has Issa thinking about her own crew. The girls invite Issa to the bar and Mirror Issa tells her to go, she obliges. Issa tells the girls she is a “cultural curator” which is the perfect term for her new walk in life. Issa heads to the bathroom with one of the girls and while in the stall she asks Issa where all the men are. In the midst of Issa giving her the deets, Issa realizes she is talking to her self. She leaves the bathroom and heads back to the bar to find the girls left and stuck her with the tab as part of their Bachlorette Scavenger Hunt. Yikes! Issa fantasizes about seeing the girls on the street and executing revenge, a mess!

After the debacle Issa goes to see her mom. Issa’s mom can tell immediately something is up with her daughter and requests a hug. Issa hugs her mom and immediately breaks down in her arms. She tells her mom that she isn’t sure what is next for her as far as relationships go. Very reminiscent of the conversation Lawrence had with his father in season 3. Issa’s mom expresses how she admires the path her daughter is on and clearly Issa needed that.

Issa finally returns Kelli’s call. Kelli asks her is she okay and has she spoken to Molly yet. Issa tells Kelli no and essentially why should she be the one to call. Issa also asks if Kelli is saying these things to Molly, to which she responds yes if Molly would answer her phone. Kelli reminds Issa of her rift with Tiffany and let’s her know the situation will get worse before it gets better if no one reaches out. Issa heads home to read more positive comments about her event and promises a fan there is more to come.

The episode ends with Issa going to her and Molly’s favorite Ethiopian restaurant. If you recall this is the spot they went to for Issa’s birthday in season 1. To our surprise Molly is there. Issa hesitates to enter the restaurant and decides not to go in. No resolution. Come on ladies!

My Takeaways:

Still no Lawrence! Hmm.

Issa or Molly must break the ice.

Put the pride aside and talk.

Avoiding the situation will not solve a thing.

Next week looks like it’s baecation time for Molly and Andrew!
