One thing I appreciate about the ‘Power Universe’ is how every detail plays a role. There is always a connection or something more to be seen. Tonight’s episode of ‘Raising Kanan’ needed to be called ‘Oops’ because of the level of mess that’s been created.

First the good news — Marvin is officially part of The ‘Angry Nigga Classes’ graduating class of 1991. He looked just like a happy graduate while reminiscing with Joe — the angry white man. Marvin’s therapist is very proud of Marvin and decides to slip her number to him in case he ever wants to “talk.”

Jukebox is at Nicole’s grave when Jamie, Nicole’s father, rolls up with a bouquet of flowers. Jamie let’s Jukebox know he is no longer with Nicole’s mother because their outlook on life differed to an extreme. He expresses gratitude toward Jukebox for making his daughter happy and showing Nicole what real love feels like. He does inquire about the tape Nicole and Jukebox made together down at the mall and Jukebox pretends to be unaware of what happened to it. Later on in the episode, she takes the videotape that had been crushed by Marvin’s Gucci church loafers and gets it repaired. Juke leaves the video outside of Nicole’s home for Jamie to have.

Meanwhile Puff Daddy and Jennifer Lopez, I mean, Lou Lou and Zisa finally do the deed — well close to the deed. A pair of Jamaicans bust into the studio demanding money that Crown owes a man name Linton Manley. Looks like Lou Lou is down bad still, even after his Snapped episode two weeks ago.

Kanan decides to be a good Samaritan and return the gun Palomar had given him. When he arrives to the apartment, Palomar is waiting on Kanan in her full on Freaknik lingerie. She seduces the boy and well — ya’ll watched ‘Juice’ right?

Marvin and Marco meet over mozzarella and sauce to discuss a small deal. Marvin would like Marco to handle his problem with Toni for a fee of $5,000. Marco is willing to help so long as his father is kept out of the deal. Marco later goes to Unique and asks if Marvin can be trusted. Unique confirms that if Marvin is willing to pay, he is always good on his word. However, now Unique has even more info on things happening within the Thomas family.

Jukebox attends bible study with Kenya and well the lesson hits a little too hard for Juke. Still keeping her true self away from her mother, Juke accepts a date and exchanges numbers with the young man at the church that has been on her top since episode three. Later that day, Marvin and Jukebox cross paths at Raq’s house and although Marvin admits he has messed up a lot, he still attempts to warn his daughter about Kenya. This is one of those situations Juke is just going to have to discover the truth on her own.

Lou Lou is stealing money from the family to handle his little personal issues. Although some people seem to enjoy the character of Lou Lou, I wonder how long before we smoking on that Lou Lou pack.

Symphony has a nice little lunch with his step-son Kanan. He gives Kanan the news that he got a job offer in North Carolina and will be moving. He expresses that it may be best not to tell Raq and just quietly leave the city but Kanan knows Symphony is not being honest with himself. When the pair part ways outside of the restaurant, Burke is on Symphony’s ass. She pulls him over and tries to question him about Kanan but he stands ten toes down and keeps his high yellow mouth shut — and that’s how you clear a nosey bih.

We are reaching the truth hour of the episode now. Symphony has a final meet up with Raq, telling her that he will be moving and offers her a warning. He tells Raq about his interaction with Burke and he assures her that he said nothing. Even through all of the loyalty Symphony has shown this woman, she still has no trust in him and question what his idea of “nothing” is. Symphony decides to end the conversation there and tells Raq goodbye.

Malcolm finds out that Scarp was not the C.I. and it was actually his mother — duh! Of course he has to deliver this truth to Raq. Raq is clearly pained by the news when she and Malcolm later meet up. She informs Malcolm that his partner is getting closer to the truth but Malcolm dismisses the threat. He tries to plant some seeds of doubt about Symphony and we see later on that it works — briefly.

The Toni hit is well underway. Marco picks Dominic as his co-hitter and from there I know something is going to go left with this whole damn plot. Toni and her boo finish up some adult play and he goes into another room for something. Dominic and Marco rush the bedroom and shoot Toni in the head, killing her. Toni’s man attacks Marco and the pair tussle on the floor. Marco tells Dominic to shoot the man but he accidentally kills Marco. Dominic flees from the home, leaving Toni’s man alive.

Lou Lou makes a deal with the bald headed devil, Cartier, to handle the situation with Linton. In return, Cartier wants 25 percent of the label. The fact Lou Lou fell for the same deal he once gave Crown is gold.

Burke finally pieces everything together about the Raq and Malcolm saga but she is warned by her girlfriend that she is no longer investigating Malcolm’s shooting but actually investigating Malcolm— internal affairs style.

Corrine pays Raq a visit to tell her what has been going on with her mother and Kanan.

Officer Malcolm heads to speak with Nicole’s father about Officer Burke.

Raq decides to attempt a drive by on Symphony as he is packing up his car to head to Charlotte. At the last second, she changes her mind and drives off with Symphony looking at the vehicle.

Takeaways:

Raq’s chickens are starting to come home to roost. She was a snitch, she killed her most loyal soldier who was not a snitch, the man she loves is leaving NYC, her brother is stealing from her, her son is sleeping with somebody else’s mother — just go back to bed Raq.

It was a treat seeing Basie Skanks before he found God and Triumph Church. In 91' he was going by his back sliding name “Traymont.”

We all new Burke was going to solve this mystery. Malcolm does not care the way Raq does because she stands to lose way more. She will have to handle Burke herself.

Cartier in the studio making beats! Now is he supposed to be Suge Knight or?

Not Julianna showing up to that meet up looking like a latina Peggy Bundy. Sis is tired of Unique mmkay!

Is it just me or do all the Italian hitters in the ‘Power Universe’ let us down? I mean ever since the whole Cousin Benny situation from the OG ‘Power’ series, they just have not lived up to ‘The Sopranos’ or ‘Goodfellas’ in my book.
