I feel like we are starting these episodes with Lou-Lou and his drunken Unk routine far too often. Tonight, Lou-Lou did not have the cash for an eleven-dollar bottle of alcohol and decided to rob the liquor store for it. I think we all want more for Lou, but he has to want better for himself.

Ronnie finds out Julianna is in the upper room when Joaquin shows up for their meet-up instead of her. Thankfully, Snaps and Pop brokered a deal with Joaquin that allows Ronnie to stay alive for now. Did you guys peep Ty Dolla $ign?

Raq’s enterprise is in full swing, and serious weight is being moved already through the restaurant equipment warehouse. One thing about Raq is that she is going to figure out a way to make some money, and all we can do is respect it. Raq meets up with Jukebox at the diner to celebrate everything she has going on with Butta. Jukebox’s performance at the mall is coming up, and Raq wishes her luck and tells Juke how proud she is of her. When Jukebox asks about Kanan, Raq admits things are still not good between the both of them, but she no longer wants to involve Jukebox in the drama. She wants to just celebrate Juke for once.

Down at the bar, Shirley brings a friend of hers in to listen to a famous record. It turns out he owns an independent record label and is interested in working with both Famous and Lou Lou. The problem is that Lou Lou has pretty much gone ghostly. Marvin enlists Lou’s landlord to open his apartment door for a wellness check, and inside things are a stank and nasty mess. Lou has not taken care of his place and is nowhere to be found.

The walls may be closing in on Malcolm after all. Patrick Burke pays a visit to Captain Baptiste and requests for Shannon’s case to be reopened. He believes that Malcolm set his daughter up and tells Baptiste that it is time to take a hard look at what has been in front of them this entire time. Patrick draws the connection between Nicole and Jukebox, causing Baptiste to realize they let a huge piece of the puzzle slip away. He calls in the head of the FBI taskforce, and they realize Jukebox will have to be brought in for questioning about Nicole’s death and Marvin.

Ronnie stops in to see Snaps and Pop to air his frustrations about Raq cutting his business short. He gets no sympathy from the couple because they still expect payment for their investment. They tell Ronnie he needs to figure out his own situation.

Raq asks Malcolm to track Lou Lou down for her. Although Malcolm is apprehensive, she reminds him that Lou Lou could reveal some things about him that could cause him a lot of problems.

Marvin meets up with Gerald at the playground. Gerald states that he is doing a lot better, and their conversations have helped him. He does not want to take up Marvin’s time anymore, but Marvin wants to remain a friend to Gerald.

Famous goes to see Kanan to ask about where Lou could be, but is met with excessive force from Ronnie. I just cannot forgive Kanan for allowing Ronnie to carry on like this with Famous. Kanan does tell Famous that he may be at Jukebox’s performance with Butta since most of the family will be there to support her.

It is finally Butta’s time to shine, and Jukebox really kills this performance. The ladies look well put together and finally look like a group. Marvin, Raq, Kanan, and Famous are all there to cheer Jukebox on. After the performance, Raq and Kanan have a very tense exchange. When Raq attempts to tell Kanan the truth about Ronnie and what happened to Unique, Kanan says that is not the story he heard. He also says he trusts Ronnie more than he trusts her. He tells his mom that she has no control over him or his business.

Backstage after Butta’s performance, it seems Jukebox and Krystal have made peace for now. Things go very sour when the group of men that N’kiyah is speaking with turn out to be FBI agents there to take Jukebox in for questioning about her family’s criminal ties.

Lou is finally found at a bar drunk by two police officers and taken to the house where Malcolm later arrives. Lou puts it together that Malcolm was the one who gave the bad information to Scrap, ultimately leading to his death. When Malcolm threatens Lou to shut his mouth, Lou admits he already feels dead at this point.

Now for the tragedy of the episode: Gerald’s daughter Alice dies in a drowning incident because Gerald was high and fell asleep instead of monitoring her. Marvin comes to the hospital and tries to comfort his friend, but Gerald tearfully comes clean about not being a real friend to Marvin. He admits to being an FBI informant and says he did not give them anything. Marvin rips into Gerald for being a horrible friend and a terrible father.

The questioning of Jukebox was literally pointless for the police because Juke would always stand by not telling the police anything. When Agent Tanner tries to ask Juke about Marvin’s relationship with Malcolm, she tells him she will not tell him anything, especially after he blew her life up. Juke’s position in Butta is likely gone now.

Raq finally shows up at the house where Lou and Malcolm are, and she confronts Malcolm for trying to railroad Marvin. He tries to convince Raq that this is the only way to stay out of prison, but she refuses to sell out her family. Now, Raq, I hope you stand on that, because at this point, you need to throw Malcolm up under that bus.

The cops arrive at Gerald’s place, and it appears he committed suicide by way of a drug overdose. I can’t say I am sad to see him go, but neither Alice nor Marvin deserved what Gerald did to them on Earth.

Marvin arrives on the scene with Lou, and she instructs him to get Lou into the car. Lou now seems very fearful that his life may be coming to an end.

Captain Baptiste and Agent Tanner confront Malcolm with their new knowledge of the Bingham case and his possible connection to Marvin. Malcolm seems to have the gift of talking his trifling way out of any situation; I just wonder if Baptiste and Tanner are going to buy into it.

At a roundtable meeting with Ronnie, Snaps, and Pop, the trio tell Kanan that it is high time for his mother to be dealt with. Does Kanan hate his mother enough to pick them over her?

Raq and Marvin drive Lou far out of the city. During the ride, Lou pleads with Marvin about not wanting to die alone in the middle of nowhere. The irony is that for the last few episodes, Lou behaved like he did not care about dying, but look how quickly things have changed. We do not get to see what Lou’s fate is just yet.

The season finale will be one for the books, and my biggest question is: who will not make it to season four?
