‘Power’ is arguably the biggest series on Starz right now, beginning back in 2014, the original series went for 6 seasons and eventually branched off into three spin-offs.

Currently at the tail end of it’s third season, ‘Power Book II: Ghost,’ went on it’s usual two week hiatus. Typically after a major death, the show goes on pause — a tradition since the OG ‘Power’ series. However, during the hiatus which left us waiting on episodes 9 and the season finale, clips from the show began to surface on TikTok and soon on Twitter. Fans began to wonder where the clips were coming from and soon discovered both episodes 309 and 310 were available online, in their entirety and not by way of Starz. The links to the episodes spread like wildfire and now people are ready for season 4 before the legitimate release of both episodes through the network. How is it possible that these leaks continue to happen?

Okay Power Rangers, I need you guys to think back. I know some viewers new to the Power Universe may not be aware but leaks are nothing new, that’s right, we are very familiar with them. Do you remember the infamous leak of Ghost’s daughter, Raina, being killed? We were in Season 4 of the OG series and waiting on episode 9 to drop when the clip leaked on a random YouTube page. I was in disbelief that such a major scene could be revealed. From that point on, it became regular business for such scenes to be spoiled. The death of Angela Valdez and even the death of James St. Patrick, found it’s way to our computers and phones ahead of Starz officially dropping the episodes.

So who is the culprit? I think that’s the question fans are stumped by. I can’t imagine any network would want one of their highest viewed shows — leaked. Although I see plenty of people planning to still watch the episodes as they air, you have to wonder what type of hit Starz takes every time this happens. Being part of Starz press, it’s always disappointing to see this happen because it affects those of us that cover the series. For the actors, writers, producers and PR representatives — this is a nightmare. Thankfully, the frequent leaks do not appear to take a toll on the popularity of ‘Power.’

Although the episodes are floating on the internet, we are still committed to covering ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ the way Starz intends for the show to be covered — no spoilers over here folks.

Catch Episode 309 of ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Friday at midnight on the Starz app and airing on Starz at 8pm EST.
